by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, period of Alexander III, with later overglaze State Porcelain Factory mark, painted after a design by Aleksandra Shchekotikhina-Pototskaia by Maria Kirilova, Petrograd, 1923
The cup painted with a couple reading a book flanked by the lower portion of a face with hand in blessing and a seraphim with flowers and a candle on ciselé ground, the interior with stylised flowers in colours and gold, with a gold ciselé image of the wind blowing on the base, the saucer similarly decorated, with scalloped rims, marked on the base of cup and saucer
the saucer 5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) diam.
