maker's mark of John Hamilton, Dublin, circa 1740
Shaped circular and on three shell and scaly dolphin feet, with shell and foliate scroll border, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms within shell, scroll and foliage rococo cartouche and later engraved with a crest with Baron's coronet above, marked on top and engraved with scratchweight '44=14'
