Lot Essay

The sitter, who died without issue, was the second son of Sir William Fermor, 1st Bt. of Easton Neston: his elder brother William (d.1711), created Baron Leominster in 1692, rebuilt Easton Neston to the design of Nicholas Hawksmoor.
