Lot Essay

Elizabeth Montagu (d.1746), was the only daughter of Sir James Montagu (1686-1723), chief baron of the exchequer and sixth son of George Montagu of Horton, Northamptonshire. She married Sir Clement Wearg (1686-1726), a zealous whig and protestant, who became solicitor-general in 1724. She was buried in the same grave as her husband in the Temple churchyard. They had no children.
