of rectangular form, the cover set with a mother-of-pearl vacant cartouche, opening to reveal a gold sewing kit comprising: a gold-mounted clear glass scent bottle, a pair of scissors with swan head handles, a bodkin in the form of an arrow, a bodkin case chased with masks and scrollwork, and a two colour gold thimble, the border with applied stylised foliage on a matted ground, the interior of the lid mirrored, French, mid nineteenth century - length of case 12.5cms
