For Aeneas abandoning Dido dated 1747, in the collection of Sir Brinsley Ford, Clark, op. cit., no. 155, pl. 109. The drawing comes from an album of 102 leaves datable to Batoni's early and middle period. The album was broken up some time after 1932.
