The present composition recalls the figure group in the original depicting Castle Campbell, Scotland, in the collection of Sir Leonard Twiston Davies, (12½ x 16½in.), which Ibbetson executed in 1806 (see R.M. Clay, Julius Caesar Ibbetson, 1948, p. 70, pl. 76).
