A MASSIVE BLANC-DE-CHINE FIGURE OF GUANYIN, 18TH CENTURY, the well-modelled bodhisattva shown standing on a rounded base of swirling frothy waves, her hands held at the waist and concealed by the voluminous folds of her layered robes, her head lowered slightly and turned to the left, her face with downcast eyes and benign expression, her hair dressed in a double topknot encircled by a crown and partially covered by her draped cowl, moulded with jeweled pectoral at the chest and jeweled lotus strands at the hem of her gown, the back with impressed seal mark reading, Xu Yuyuan zhi, covered overall with a glaze of milk-white tone--33¾in. high
