A FRENCH BISCUIT FIGURE GROUP ALLEGORICAL OF LOVE LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, BEARING INCISED INTERLACED L MARKS AND INSCRIBED CAFFIERI
Modelled as a seated Gallant with a bird cage on his left knee, a dog emblematic of Fidelity at his feet, his right arm around his companion sitting at his right, a small bird perched on her finger, 9½in. (24.2cm.) high; together with a French biscuit figure group, bearing incised interlaced L's, of three 17th century aristocratic children and their dog, by tradition the French dauphin and his two sisters, on a rocaille-moulded base, 6 3/8in.
