Lot Essay

Warp: cotton, off white, natural, Z3-4S, uniform, but probably handspun
Weft: wool, coarse, thick, natural, ivory or dark grey-brown, Z1 or Z2, two shoots (a few three) alternating, almost equally straight
Pile: wool, Z1, asymmetric knots open left, alternate warps depressed 0-30 degrees, H7-8xV4
Sides: one bundle of two body warps wrapped in red Z3S wool
Ends: top, 5/8" red Z1 or Z2 balanced plainweave, warps bunched and knotted; bottom, same as top but dark maroon wefts
Colors: pale blue, orange tan, dark brown, pale green, orange ochre, buff, brick, deep gold
