Of rectangular shape set on four ball feet inlaid in silver with medallions of stags, on the long sides, and with medallions of cranes on the short sides, all bordered by bands of foliate scroll, key frets and diaperwork, the lid also inlaid in silver with a large medallion of an auspicious character within borders matching the sides--4 7/8 x 3 5/8 x 3¼in. (12.3 x 9.3 x 8.3cm.), some inlay losses
