CHOSON DYNASTY (19TH CENTURY)
The rectangular iron box and cover inlaid in silver on the slightly domed lid with a large character medallion within a square border of key frets surrounded by foliate scroll and diaperwork and two further bands of fretwork, the sides decorated with similar grounds enclosing medallions of stags, on the long sides, and of cranes on the shorter sides, raised on four ball feet--5 3/8 x 3 7/8 x 3 1/8in. (13.5 x 9.8 x 8cm.)
