THREE LACQUER SAKE BOTTLES AND TWO BOXES, 19TH CENTURY, comprising a nashiji ground ryoshibako with inlaid "Three Friends" decoration--12¾ x 16¾ in.; a sake bottle decorated with gold scrolling karakusa and mon on a roiro-nuri ground, with stopper--9¼ in. high; a globular sake bottle with short cylindrical neck, decorated with flowers and grasses, gold stopper--6¾ in. high; an unusual inlaid crescent-shaped bottle decorated with a continuous scene of three farmers wearing straw cloaks, their heads bent, pulling a boat out of the water, stopper--9 in. long; and a small square three-tiered box, decorated with scattered small leaves on a fundame ground, silver mounts and rings--2 1/8 in.; together with a fan-shaped togidashi lacquer tray, of kidney form, decorated with figures and equipment on a boat watching as a horse is being loaded on board, willow and waves in the background--12¾ in. wide (3)
