FOUR-CHARACTER HALL MARK, JING WEI TANG ZHI, IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE, YONGZHENG/QIANLONG PERIOD

Comprising seven bowls of three different sizes and five saucer dishes of two different sizes, all covered on the exterior with a deep, rich blue glaze, with brown-dressed rim and white-glazed interior

Lot Essay

The hallmark may be translated, 'Made for the Hall of Respectful Awe'
A fine pair of blue-glazed bowls made for the same hall was sold in these rooms, June 3, 1993, lot 262; and another group of bowls and dishes with brown-dressed rims sold in our Hong Kong rooms, January 16/17, 1989, lots 811 and 812
