EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)

A group of four, comprising a three-case inro patterned with iris with mother-of-pearl and pewter blossoms and gold lacquer stems, and accompanied by an ivory netsuke carved in the figure of a Chinese boy, a three-case inro decorated in pewter, mother-of-pearl and gold lacquer on a roiro-nuri ground with autumn grasses and vines, a two-case inro ornamented with shaped reserves of autumn flowers of gold lacquer, mother-of-pearl and glazed pottery, and a rectangular four-case inro decorated with hollyhocks, grasses and morning glories in mother-of-pearl, pewter and gold lacquer on a brown ground--2 3/8in. to 3¼in.
