EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY), SIGNED KOAMI AND WITH KAKIHAN

Of oval section decorated in iro-e togidashi with two foreigners in elaborately patterned pantaloons and jackets on a kinji ground, one man walking a black and gold spotted dog, details of the costumes in aogai and kirigane and the cord runners embellished with large rectangular pieces of gold and the edges of the top and base rimmed with rectangles of aogai; the interior cases dense nashiji; fitted with a coral bead ojime--3½in. (8.8cm.) high
