Of rectangular shape with rounded corners decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, hirame and kirigane on a roiro ground with a well and well bucket, rock and paulownia tree below a silver crescent moon and band of clouds, the underside of the lid and the lower section of the box designed in togidashi with stands of bamboo on a hirame and roiro ground; fitted with a soft metal and gilt metal mizuire and an ink well--8¾ x 9½ x 1 7/8in. (22.2 x 24.2 x 4.7cm.), small nicks, some wear around ink stone
