The rectangular double tier writing box/storage compartment decorated in iro-e takamaki-e with 'tsuba' and 'kozuka' after ones designed by Jugakusai Katsubumi and other Edo school makers on a red lacquer ground, rims fundame, the interior of both compartments roiro-nuri and silver hirame; fitted with a copper mizuire--4½ x 8 5/8 x 5 1/8in. (11.4 x 22 x 13cm.), surface nicks and small blisters
