A SHINO WARE BOWL
MOMOYAMA PERIOD (EARLY 17TH CENTURY)
The circular dish with pinched rim set on three loop feet and painted in the interior in iron brown with a small bird and stand of flowers within a ring of large dots, and the rim painted with a crosshatch pattern and the exterior matching, covered by a milk-white glaze, thick in places--6in. (15.2cm.), crack restored in silver lacquer
