FOUR SHIBUICHI AND SHAKUDO HAMANO STYLE AND NAGOYA-MONO TSUBA
LATE EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)

Oval, shibuichi with a masame ji and carved in good, sunken relief with a waterfall coursing through mountain rocks the, guard is applied with a shakudo and gold tiger, shakudo rocks and gold ground plants, inscribed Yasumichi, height 7.2cm.; oval, shakudo and deeply carved and molded with clouds, trees, rocks and a mountain torrent, the guard is decorated with a figure of Liu Pei [one of the Three Heroes of Han] on horseback, executed in copper, shakudo and gold, signed Yoshifusa, height 7.0cm.; oval and with shakudo ishime ji, the guard is carved and applied in shakudo, gold and copper with a seated figure of Handaka Sonja holding a bowl from which springs a dragon, unsigned, height 6.6cm.; mokko, shakudo and covered on both ji and edge with nanako, the guard is decorated in high relief with mantis and autumn flowers, unsigned, height 7.5cm.
