The molded cornice above a pair of cabinet doors enclosing shelves, the projecting base with three frieze drawers, the central section of waist sliding back to reveal a scarlet velvet-lined ratcheted writing surface, over an arched kneehole flanked by a pair of cabinet doors on a plinth, decorated allover with elaborate chinoiseries incorporating Chinese figures, pavilion gardens, parquet terraces, exotic birds and extensive landscapes, mounted with foliate-etched brass hinges
