A QUEEN ANNE SILVER COFFEE POT, London, maker's mark probably that of Seth Lofthouse, maker's mark on cover flange, indecipherable on shoulder, circa 1705, marks worn, slightly tapering cylindrical, on bowed rim base, engraved with coat-of-arms, helm and crest within elaborate foliate scroll and scalework surround, the highly upraised spout with cut-card join and hinged cover, the right angled wood loop handle with conforming joins and overlaid with punched and scalloped strap, the hinged high domed cover chased with two rows of concave flutes with punched beads between, with now fixed baluster finial--10½in. (26.6cm.) high, gross weight 29.5oz.
