etching and drypoint, circa 1640, on laid paper, watermark Caduceus (?), a good impression with touches of burr, first state (of two), with wide margins, deckled at right, extremely pale scattered foxing, a printing crease and a small hole in the left margin, a 1/2-inch tear in the right margin, not affecting the subject, the tip of the bottom right corner lacking, remains of old glue in places at the reverse of the margin edges, otherwise generally in good condition
