Lot Essay

This drawing is related to the pastel Femme assise, se coiffant (P. A. Lemoisne, no. 931), as well as another pastel and charcoal study (no. 936) and two reworked counterproofs (nos. 935 bis and ter), all executed around 1887-1890. In the pastel version the figure is seen slightly more from the side, and she sits with her legs crossed at the knee.
