A Dutch coastal Village with Ships anchored offshore and Fisherfolk and Villagers merrymaking before an Inn on a Beach

In a letter dated Aug. 31, 1981 (private communication) the attribution to Abraham Willaerts is confirmed by the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie, The Hague. Compare, for example, the artist's seascape of 1647 in the Frans Halsmuseum, Haarlem (L.J. Bol, Die Holländische Marinemalerie des 17. Jahrhunderts, 1973, p. 77, fig. 75).
