(7 9/16 x 10 1/2 in.), modern vellum, new endpapers, upper corner of front flyleaf torn and repaired, title-leaf a bit soiled, upper platemark of title engraving shaved and inner edge of image hidden in gutter, occasional slight marginal soiling, light offsetting to plate 9, small stain to upper margin of pl. 13, slight copperplate defect to the repeated border. FIRST EDITION, engraved title within allegorical border, 41 engraved plates of calligraphic specimens within 26 different separately engraved baroque scrollwork borders (one border repeated 15 times), most incorporating grotesque figures and drôleries.
