(15 3/4 x 10 5/8in.), nineteenth-century citron morocco, covers with quadruple gilt fillet incorporating ornamental cornerpieces, spines richly gilt, broad turn-ins with multiple gilt fillets and side ornaments, vellum doublures and endleaves, in the style of Charles Lewis, spines edges and corners worn, upper inner joint of vol. I broken, vols. I and II foxed. FIRST EDITION, mezzotint engraved portrait of Claude by Boydell in vol. I, engraved portrait of John Boydell by B. Smith in vol. III, 300 mezzotint engraved plates by Earlom after Claude. [With:] A volume of 172-outline proofs from vols. I to III of the complete work, with title-page and 8 text leaves from the Boydell edition of vol. I, mezzotint engraved portrait frontispiece of Earlom by T. Lupton, dated 1819, portraits of John Boydell and Claude (the latter a proof before letters), bound to match and lettered "Etchings" on spine. Cf. Abbey Life 200.
