ELIZABETH I, Queen of England. Document signed ("Elizabeth I," with flourish), countersigned (on verso) by ROBERT DUDLEY, Earl of Leicester; WILLIAM CECIL, Lord Burghley; SIR FRANCIS KNOLLYS; SIR WILLIAM HERBERT, Lord Pembroke; LORD WILLIAM HOWARD; EDWARD FIENNES DE CLINTON, First Earl of Lincoln; [London?], 26 May 1564. 1 page, oblong 4to, 234 x 562mm. (9 3/16 x 22 1/8 in.), ON PARCHMENT, original impression of Great Seal in brown wax pendant on vellum flap (surface abraded, losses to right-hand portion), ink slightly faded, three slits cut through parchment without loss, wormed in several places and with damage from acidic ink causing loss of some text in places and damage to signatures on verso, enclosed in quarter red morocco gilt-lettered slipcase, in Latin. The Queen grants commercial privileges as a merchant trader in London to one Paul Harwarde of Antwerp and his heirs.
