Colonel Taylor gives a character reference for two businessmen: "Leo White and Benja[min] Lawrence have this moment informed me that they have made propositions to supply provisions for the troops of the United States...at Natchitoches, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Pensacola...I have been personally acquainted with those Gentlemen for a number of years & have no hesitation in stating that in point of integrity & wealth they are among the first in the state & that any contact or engagement that may be entered into with them, will be faithfully & promptly complied with in every respect..."
