Each of campana form, finely painted overall with exotic birds on branches, the interior of the mouth gilt with a scrolling grape-vine, the lower part with foliate scrolls, on further square base, chip to base of both, some wear to gilding (2)

The fine painting on the present pair of vases is traditionally ascribed to the hand of Richard Dodson, active 1813-1820. Cf. John Twitchett, Derby Porcelain, London, 1980, fig. 283 (for the form) and fig. 301 (for the painting)
