The circular basin with a central cylindrical ink well, the faux grey marble basin divided in three and with three quill holders, the slightly everted rim gilt with a leafy vine on the blue ground, the underside similarly gilt with radiating flowers and palmettes, green collector's number '15.j.11' to the underside, the ormolu cover a replacement, the well stained by black ink
