Each with cartouche-shaped padded back upholstered in blue striped silk above padded arms and a loose cushion seat, carved throughout with flowerheads, on cabriole legs ending in toupie feet (4)

Georges Jacob, maitre in 1765

Although Georges Jacob is best known for his menuiserie in the neoclassical style, he also produced chairs in an earlier, more fluid Louis XV manner (see P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIe Siècle, 1989, pp. 410-411).
