[With]: MILLER, HENRY. Autograph letter signed ("Henry Miller" in green ink) to Beauford Delaney. Big Sur, 21 January 1946. Two pages, written on recto and verso of a single 8vo sheet. "I am glad to hear the brochure is finally out. Expect to get some copies in a few days now. I hope Oscar [Baradinsky], good Oscar, gave you all you needed for your own purposes..." In 1945 Henry Miller published a chapbook titled "The Amazing and Invariable Beauford Delaney" which was later reprinted in Delaney's Retrospective (1978). (See above).
[And]: HARLOW, JEAN. Typed letter signed ("Jean Harlow" in pencil) to Beauford Delaney. Mexico, n.d. 2 pages, 8vo. "How are you doing? How is your leg and your fingers and your galaxy? Are you painting as fast as light and as slow as darkness? Or is your soul the residue of lava and ectoplasm (a favorite word of yours)?... Here the winter icycles [sic] are turning my balls into bears and the ovarian pyramids into an apokalipse [sic]..." -- Typed letter signed by Jean Harlow's mother in her daughter's name.
