DECIMAL PATTERNS OF 1889
The following seven lots compirse a virtually complete collection (only the 5-Centavos is wanting) of the decimal Patterns of 1889. The redesigned eagle was not adopted on the regular coinage until 1898, and then only the silver Peso bore the Libery Cap reverse, to maintain the type in the shift from the 8-Reales.
Pattern Centavo, Mexico City mint, 1889, struck in white metal (KM.Pn.105; Buttrey p.263), prooflike, edge knocks, very fine to extremely fine
