The spreadwinged eagle finial above a circular glazed door opening to a conforming white-painted dial face with Roman chapter ring over an eglomise decorated throat enclosed by crossbanded inlaid frame flanked by scrolled open brass spandrels above a rectangular base with eglomise panel with a central white-painted rectangle inscribed S. WILLARD'S PATENT enclosed by gilt-decorated trailing vines on a white-painted ground framed by gilt-decorated bands enclosed by a pink-painted band all within a crossbanded inlaid frame
