AN IMPORTANT SWISS KEYWIND WOODEN MUSICAL MECHANICAL BANK, CIRCA 1880S
Featuring an extensively carved clock tower with base, bricks, arches, columns, turret, a bird with nest and eggs, and a central pair of doors which open under the main arch. The doors hide a carved and hand painted wooden Trumpeter in colorful 16th century dress. There are two chiminey's and a back door which opens to the mechanism. The coin slot is designed into the left chimmey stack, the keywind to activate is located next to this chimney. When a coin is dropped the music box begins to play and simultaneously the doors swing open to reveal the figure. A key opens the back door for access to the mechanism. Manufactured by B.A. Bremond, Geneva. Pasted on back is a paper label both printed and handwritten in Swiss German. Excellent condition--Size 16½ x 8 x 6 in.
