A LARGE SILVER PUNCH BOWL, maker's mark of Shiebler, circa 1890, gilt lined very deep circular, on four openwork fruited grapevine supports with conforming apron between, the body quartered by applied elaborate Bacchic masks, linked by broad fruited grapevine festoon, with everted molded rim, base underside engraved with initials--9in. (22.8cm.) high, and 14¼in. (36.1cm.) diam.--together with a large silver punch ladle, maker's mark of Gorham, the tapering stem with strapwork enclosed vacant oval cartouche at mid stem, the shaped terminal with bold grinning satyr's mask, surrounded by grape clusters and foliate scrolls, the reverse embossed with further grape clusters, instruments of merry-making and ram's mask, with deep double lipped bowl--16½in.
