A SILVER ALMS BOX, apparently unmarked, possibly altered from a candlestick, inverted pear form on trumpet form base, the side chased with six portrait medallions, the base and body applied with grotesque mask straps, chased with egg at intervals, all enclosed by strapwork, the sides of the waisted cover with three applied masks (three lacking), within strapwork, the top chased twice with skull and twice with crossbones, centering rectangular slot--10½in. (26.6cm.) high, 46oz.
