Lot Essay

The Tiffany pattern book entry for this punch bowl, no. 13512 is dated February 19, 1898. It cost $1,200 to manufacture. Tiffany advises this may be a unique piece. The archival drawing details the cast components: Head no. 2523a: Head no. 2524a: 4 Pieces of vine no. 2525a: Feet no. 2526a: Pieces of border 2527a. It was apparently ordered as a present for a twenty-fifth (silver!) wedding aniversary.
