1917 STUTZ BULLDOG TOURING CAR

Chassis No. 4829
Red and black.

Engine: four cylinder in line T-head configuration, 390ci, 50bhp; Gearbox: Three speed manual; Brakes: Mechanical, internal expanding on rear wheels; Suspension: semi-elliptic springs; right hand drive.

This was the car that started A.K. Miller's lifelong fascination with all things Stutz, but most particularly the automobiles wearing that badge. Acquired by him in 1925 while still a high school student, this car was in regular use from that point on and was a familiar sight traveling the roads in the East Orange and West Topsham vicinity.

The car carries a set of canvas seat covers over the original; leather. Top is fair but useable and the paint is fair. Generally, the car could be used as Mr. Miller used it or could be restored to prize-winning condition.

In either case, a Stutz Bulldog is a rare sight at vintage car gatherings today and with the further attraction of this car's ownership history, it would make a interesting acquisition for the Stutz enthusiast or restorer.
