1928 STUTZ BLACK HAWK BOATTAIL SPEEDSTER
Chassis No. B8612-BA29C
Yellow.
Engine: eight cylinder, in-line, SOHC, 298.6 ci, 115 bhp; Gearbox: three speed manual; Brakes: hydraulic on four wheels; Suspension: semi-elliptic springs. Left hand drive.
This Black Hawk was another of Mr. Miller's favorite cars and saw regular use in and around East Orange. To further enhance its sporty appearance it carries accessory "Woodlite" headlamps and the correct "Ra" radiator mascot.
While the body is good and straight, the paint is peeling in some areas. The upholstery is intact and good for patterns and the car generally is in sound unrestored condition.
Like the other Black Hawk Speedster in the Miller collection, this car should present an exceptionally attractive appearance and the sort of performance which helped a similar car finish second at the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1928.
This car is recognized as a Full Classic by the Classic Car Club of America and is eligible to participate in all of that club's activities. Additionally, it is eligible to compete in racing and rallying events of the Vintage Sports Car Club of America as well as several other vintage racing organisations here and overseas.
