1913 STUTZ 6B BEARCAT

Chassis No. 1056

The two greatest and most desirable early U.S. sports cars were -- and still are -- the Mercer Raceabout and Stutz Bearcat. While the Mercer was offered only in four cylinder form during this time, Stutz offered a line of six cylinder cars to complement their powerful, race-winning fours. Few T-head sixes were sold, however, and the line was dropped after 1915.

This could very well be the sole six cylinder T-head Bearcat extant. It has been in the Miller collection for many years and appears to be nearly road ready.

Paint is presentable, the car has very good diamond-tufted leather seats, the lamps are a mixture of correct and incorrect types, and generally the car appears to need some detail work to become functional. If the new owner wished to exhibit it at major shows and concours, however, cosmetic work such as complete new paintwork will be required.

This car would be an impressive performer on brass and gas tours and international vintage car rallies as well as being the epitome of early Stutz motorcars.
