A SÈVRES STYLE 'JEWELLED' BLUE-GROUND CABINET PLATE
MID TO LATE 19TH CENTURY, BEARING BLUE INTERLACED L'S MARK
Finely painted in colours with a half-length portrait of Mme de Pompadour, named on the back, within a red and white 'jewelled' band, a band of green ribbon interlace with flower an da wide blue rim applied with 'jewels', enriched with gilding and with four floral reserves, some wear and chips to enamels, 9½in. (24cm) diam.; together with a Sèvres style magenta-ground cabinet plate, late 19th century, bearing blue interlaced L's mark, painted after Vogel von Vogelstein with a half-length portrait of a child, within a wide magenta border gilt with scrolling stylized foliage and shaped gilt rim, inscribed on the reverse 'Kind v. Volgelstein', 9½in. (24cm) diam. (2)
