A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI YOKEBACK SIDE CHAIRS, DENGGUAYI
LATE 16TH/EARLY 17TH CENTURY

The toprail of each 'lamphanger' chair with projecting ends scrolling up and back, supported on slightly bent back posts continuing to the back legs, the curved backsplat straightening out toward the rectangular frame with 'ice-plate' edge enclosing a soft-mat seat, above legs joined in front by an arch-shaped beaded apron, the footrest supported by a plain narrow apron, the back and sides with stepped stretchers
