1939 WORLDS FAIR PHOTOGRAPHS
In 1939, famous sports agent, Christy Walsh established the Academy of Sports at the Worlds Fair in New York. Each day a famous baseball player would appear and instruct youngsters in baseball and sign a membership card for them. This lot contains eleven photographs, all marked "Academy of Sport" depicting players instructing visitors including Foxx, Cronin, Mack, Feller and Hoyt. (11)
