THOMPSON PHOTOGRAPHS OF CHARLIE FAUST
Three original photographs by Paul Thompson of Charles "Victory" Faust who was kept by the New York Giants team in 1911, after John McGraw let him suit up and watch from the sidelines. The Giants swept four games against St. Louis. When they moved on and left him behind, they lost. McGraw sent for him and they went on to win again. He stayed with the team for parts of two seasons and actually pitched twice when the Giants had a safe lead in the ninth. He died in an insane asylum in 1915. (3)
