Seven years after the mass migration of Mormons to Utah, Brigham Young gives cryptic instructions to the Secretary: "I have not had time to see you about the House but you are at liberty to keep the house according to Contract, and put on what repairs & expand whatever you please, or none at all. I shall put no repair to the house. I am going out of town today & shall not have time to see you..."
