BURR, AARON, 1756-1836, Vice-President. Autograph letter signed ("AB") to T.H. Flandrau, Utica, N.Y., 16 August 1824. 1 page, folio, 317 x 198mm. (12 1/2 x 7 3/4 in.), lower third of sheet cleanly detached not affecting text, integral address leaf in Burr's hand with black circular postmark.
A weary attorney to his law partner: "I have this day rec[eive]d your two letters...one of them enclosing $100, which is very acceptable indeed...The Law Papers rec[eive]d have usually been acknowledged specifically -- no notes...nor other paper of any kind in Burr vs. Buskirk. In Rathbone no aff[adavit]s except that which regarded the Coroner['s] request [for] the maps...[which] came to hand yesterday, are satisfactory, & have, with the Consent of the Judges been handed to them. Going on with this business. I beg that you will on no acc[oun]t see Mrs. Brice. You may tear off and hand the order underneath [the detached lower section], first filling in the name of the other Trustee -- Thos. Douglas I think...."
