Homiliarius Collection of Sermons of Gregory, Augustine, Jerome, Venerable Bede and other fathers of the Church. Manuscript in Latin on vellum and paper in two 15th-century bookhands. North Germany, circa 1450. 275 leaves (including one blank, 86 vellum leaves and 188 paper leaves, each quire wrapped in a vellum leave). In double columns, 38-50 lines, vertical rules blind or in ink, partial horizontal blind-ruling; text in brown ink, initials, sub-headings, and text rubrications in red; annotations in one or more contemporary hands, maniculae in red. Folio, 290 x 212 mm., (11½ x 8 3/8 in.), late 15th-century blind-stamped cowhide over oak boards, rebacked, old spine preserved; minor marginal staining and browning. Contents: Folios 1-64(r) (Homelia Sancti Gregorii Pape; Prologue, list of contents, 40 sermons, index to the next part arranged by Sundays in the Church year, with first lines, plus one additional sermon apparently omitted from f. 52 of the first part; ff 65 to 274 at end), "Et sit est finis," which consist of further sermons, and perhaps some exegetical work in a second hand.
