ONE OF A VERY FEW FREE FRANKS OF CHIEF JUSTICE TAFT

An extremely rare frank by Ex-President Taft, while Chief Justice, bearing postal markings. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has never, in fact, possessed the franking privilege, nor was Taft entitled to the frank as ex-President at this date.

Exhibited: World Stamp Expo '89, Washington, D.C., 17 November--3 December 1989.
